The name Oskana holds personal and regional significance.
In Regina, many familiar names -- Wascana Creek, Wascana Lake, and Wascana Street -- trace back to the Cree word "Oskana," often translated as "bones." The word connects to the history of this land, where buffalo bones once marked the prairie landscape.
I grew up along Wascana Creek, attended Wascana School, and now live and practice on Wascana Street. The name has been a part of my life for many years.
By choosing Oskana for my practice, I am acknowledging the land where I grew up and the cultural history connected to it.
"Biodynamics" reflects the form of craniosacral therapy I practice -- a gentle approach that listens to the body's natural rhythms and supports its inherent capacity for balance. Together, the name Oskana Biodynamics reflects place, history, and the work I offer.
